Supporting Fair Elections
Fairness
Idaho’s closed primaries lock out 270,000 registered voters from voting in the most important elections! Â
Accountability
Elected officials should represent the people, not just the small slice of voters allowed to vote in closed primaries.
Voter Choice
More and better choices for voters.
Â
Unity Over Division
Idaho is strongest when all voters feel that their voice is heard.

About Us
Mormon Women for Ethical Government (MWEG) is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization with 7000 members across the U.S. and chapters in 14 states. We are women of faith working to build a more peaceful, just, and ethical world.
MWEG's principles of ethical of government serve as the foundation for our advocacy work:
RULE OF LAW: Government should be honest and transparent.
RIGHTS: Citizens have a right to have their voices heard.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Citizens should be informed participants.
As members of the MWEG Idaho Chapter, we are inspired by the history of our pioneer sisters who fiercely advocated for voting rights. Idaho women in particular were among the first in the nation to advocate for and gain the right to vote, nearly 25 years before women across the U.S. were granted that same right. Driven by the history of our faith, we are working today to ensure free and fair elections in our state through the Idahoans for Open Primaries Initiative.Â
