Take Action: July 21, 2017

On Thursday Democratic Senator Dick Durbin of Illinois and Republican Senator Lindsay Graham of South Carolina introduced a bipartisan version of the DREAM act to allow people who entered the US as undocumented children to gain legal status under certain circumstances.    http://latinousa.org/2017/07/20/durbin-graham-introduce-bipartisan-version-dream-act/

Information about the bill can be found here (where you can sign up for alerts about a change in status in this bill or any other): https://www.congress.gov/bill/115th-congress/senate-bill/1615?q=%7B%22search%22%3A%5B%22bridge+act%22%5D%7D

The White House has indicated it would veto this bill, however, strong bipartisan support would make that more difficult.  Senators Jeff Flake of Arizona and Chuck Schumer of New York are cosponsoring this bill right now.  Call your Senators to ask them to cosponsor this bill too if you support it.
