Take Action: October 14, 2017 Support the integration of refugees into Greek society

Lisa Campbell has been surrogate mother to hundreds of refugees who’ve found shelter and a way forward in Oinofyta, the model camp Lisa runs in Greece. That camp (featured in KSL’s “To The Rescue,” shown between LDS General Conference sessions), is closing in a few weeks.

“This comes as a huge disappointment to us”, Lisa wrote recently to Their Story is Our Story, “but with your continued support and financial assistance, we will be able to provide services to our former residents targeted towards integration into Greek society. This is necessary because migration to other countries is, in most cases, no longer available, so integration is essential.”

If you are willing to help, what Lisa and the many refugees in her care need from you:

  • CASH donations to rent a space for a COMMUNITY CENTER*
  • CASH donations for train passes to study or work in Athens
  • SPONSORS for specific families to rent apartments (Family of 6, rent is approx. $250 monthly)
  • VOLUNTEERS to run the COMMUNITY CENTER
  • Including LANGUAGE INSTRUCTORS**
  • CULTURAL LIAISONS for the Greek culture (not offered by Greek government)

*Lisa is starting a community center where there will be language training, **(Greek, English, German), computer/tech lessons, and a shop to sell wares made by camp residents. among other offerings.

ALL DONATIONS can be made on the Do Your Part website, specifying Oinofyta.
