Megan Fotheringham
Global Health and Infectious Disease Senior Advisor
Megan Fotheringham has 25 years experience in designing, implementing, and managing public health development programs. She specializes in preparing for and responding to emerging infectious disease outbreaks, including ebola, Zika, Mpox, avian influenza, and COVID-19. Her work has also included managing malaria prevention programs and improving childhood vaccinations. Megan has supported public health programs in more than 40 countries across five continents. She concludes her federal service career this year as the deputy director for the Office of Infectious Disease in USAID’s Bureau for Global Health. Megan has served as a congressional page for the House of Representatives, an intern in the White House, and a Presidential Management Fellow and an MIT Seminar XXI Fellow. Megan holds a master’s in public policy from Duke University, a master’s in public health from UNC Chapel Hill, and a bachelor’s in political science from BYU.
