Calls to Action
MWEG calls to action help you quickly and easily write and send letters to your legislators on the issues you care most about. Each call to action here falls under one of our areas of advocacy — family health and well-being, the environment, immigration, or advancing democracy.
For each call to action, check out the background information we've provided on the issue, then use our prompts and templates to help you compose your letter. Our letter-writing tool will deliver your message directly to your elected officials!

Advancing Democracy
Protect State Authority and Ensure Transparent Federal AI Regulation
While Congress has been slow to act, many states have already passed laws to protect their citizens from the more dangerous aspects of AI, including deepfake pornography, disinformation, privacy violations, and copyright infringement. Without federal guardrails, states must retain the ability to set rules protecting their residents' rights and well-being. Contact your members of Congress to ask that they support state authority to regulate AI and oppose any efforts to impose an AI moratorium through must-pass legislation.
Support the Building Civic Bridges Act
The Building Civic Bridges Act was reintroduced in the House of Representatives on July 10th. This bill, which has broad bipartisan support, establishes an Office of Civic Bridgebuilding to research civic bridge building and social cohesion and support bridge-building initiatives throughout the nation.

It is one of the most successful and bipartisan foreign aid programs in U.S. history — supported across 10 Congresses and four presidential administrations.
